/ lôr·spren /
Lorespren takes its name from the world of The Stormlight Archive, an epic fantasy series by Brandon Sanderson set on the storm-ravaged world of Roshar.
In that world, Spren are magical beings of thought, emotion, and nature — drawn to and literally born from the things humans feel and do. Flamespren dance in fire, Gloryspren burst around moments of triumph, Fearspren pool near the frightened. Each Spren is a living embodiment of the force that calls it into existence.
A Lorespren would be a Spren of lore — of accumulated knowledge, deep stories, and the quiet obsession of a mind that cannot stop reading. It would be drawn helplessly toward open books, flickering candles, and the kind of person who stays up too late because they need to know what happens next. It would not exist without stories.
It would not want to.
The name does not appear in the books — but it fits Brandon Sanderson's naming patterns so naturally that it feels like it belongs there. That felt right for an app that lives at the intersection of story and obsession.
Your reading companion, bound to your stories.
Note for Stormlight Readers
If you know the Cosmere, you will recognize the shape of this immediately. If you do not — The Stormlight Archive begins with The Way of Kings, and we would gently suggest you clear your schedule before starting it.
Your own Lorespren will thank you.
